The Big Buddy Program is designed to provide an additional adult in the life of a child.  The adult serves as a friend and as a mentor.  The big and little buddies work on homework, toss a ball, or go to the library.  Actually the range of activities is almost limitless, as the big and little buddies mutually decide upon activities to pursue.

Cultural, educational, recreational and community involvement activities are accomplished through group activities as well as through matched big and little buddies.  Cumulatively, these activities are geared toward improving the self-esteem of the little buddy, broadening the horizons, establishing community involvement as a lifelong investment.

These goals are achieved by providing the quality additional adult time in the life of a child. You can make a difference!

How your interest creates positive change:

• Too many young people do not have a caring adult mentor to provide encouragement and support;
• Mentoring programs can provide the link to this support; but
• Programs need volunteers to close the gap.

a team coach, your teacher, a concerned neighbor, or another caring adult - take a few minutes to thank them and then consider becoming a mentor yourself.
