Program Description

Home visitors provide parent education and support to strengthen families and improve parent/child interaction.

The Parent Education program provides coached family visitation and parent education to parents at risk of having their children removed and to parents that have had their children removed and placed in foster care. Parent Educators help parents articulate and understand how to meet the needs of their children while encouraging positive responses and interactions when they are together. Parent Educators focus on empowering parents to plan and fully engage in their visits, striving to achieve the most positive outcome possible. Parent Education builds on the parent’s strengths, providing the necessary tools to ensure and promote positive parenting and consistency, ultimately leading to reunification.
