Respite Care
Delaware Opportunities recruits and trains individuals to care for developmentally disabled people in various settings. Families with a developmentally disabled member may be eligible for the following services: Respite Care which provides care for the disabled family member to permit the primary care giver time for work or social/recreational activities, alleviating the stress of continually caring for the family member; respite recreation which provides one on one supervision of a developmentally disabled person to attend recreational activities; respite habilitation which provides an opportunity to integrate a developmentally disabled person with the community; and family training to assist families learn to effectively provide care for a developmentally disabled person.
