Delaware Opportunities Inc. is seeking a full-time (35 hours per week), 11 or 12 months per year, Children’s Services Manager for our Head Start Program.  The position will be based out of our Hamden office.  Pay range to start at $22.55 per hour with annual increases possible.  The ideal candidate must be hard working, reliable, a team player and trustworthy.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  responsible for overall planning, management and implementation of the education component of the HS program;  including things such as-set up the format for gathering information to assess each child's intellectual, physical, emotional and social development for the purpose of planning, organizing and individualizing learning activities; ensuring that the children's education records are current and complete and that the planned individual learning activities are being implemented; and conducting on-site visits to the center programs on a bi-monthly basis to assist in the development of the education component, encouraging home activities and providing instruction and materials as needed that go along with planning.  Skills required include but are not limited to:  ability to read and understand rules and regulations and to establish early learning and child development concepts in HS classrooms, data entry and basic computing skills, supervisory experience. Candidate must have a Bachelors in Early Childhood or a Bachelors and course work equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood.  Must have experience working with preschool children.  Must be CLASS certified or willing to become certified.
